COVID Masks
This is a strange time to be alive. Covid-19 is ravaging humankind, killing by the thousands and changing the face of the world forever. Thousands of people (myself included) have found themselves to be out of work because we are a part of the service industry and the service industry is all but shut down. We've been instructed to shelter in place and only leave the house for essentials. When we DO venture into the world, the CDC highly suggests staying 6 feet away from any other people and to wear some kind of protective mask. The call for home sewers, as well as clothing companies, to rise to the occasion is impossible to ignore. I've made maybe 40 masks so far (25 for the Howard Center and the remaining for friends and family), 11 masks for the Co-Op, and I have more requests. I've also volunteered to sew for the Vermont Teddy Bear Company. I picked up two kits of 48 masks each to be completed by next Monday. I'm frustrated that I'm not able to really help but grateful that I have a skill that can be useful in these trying times.
Edit: I've made close to 1,000 masks as of July 7, 2020. I'll keep uploading photos to this post of my favorites.
