The Infamous Easter Bunny Cake

Ahhh the Easter Bunny Cake.

Every year, since before I was even born, my mom has made this cake and every year she hates the way it turns out! It's a pretty simple bake, but the decorating always frustrates poor Mom. The cake starts out as two round cakes, one of which gets sliced in such a way to create two ears and a bow tie, and then is frosted, which is where things start to fall apart - literally. Little cake crumbs always get mixed into the frosting and Mom gets so annoyed. But then the rest of the decorations get added and it's really no big deal, but it really gets under her skin. She always apologizes for the way the cake's turned out, and we tease her a little about it, but really no one minds that the cake isn't perfect. It's such a fun family tradition and I'm so glad that Mom STILL makes this cake every Easter even though my sister and I both left home years ago.

So, this is my first solo rendition of this beloved family tradition. Here's to many more to come!
