Pride and Prejudice
This was my grandmother's dresser and it has been in my parents basement for probably the last 20 years storing tools and paint brushes. I felt compelled to rescue it and return it to its former glory, but with a twist! Pride and Prejudice is one of my all time favorite books and for some reason I was inspired to decoupage it's pages to the fronts of the drawers. I found a thrift store copy and tore out the pages, intentionally leaving them rough, and carefully arranged them on the drawers; the top drawer has pages from the beginning of the book and so on down to the last shelf containing the last pages from the book. I sanded the entire piece (which took a very long time to get all the scratches out) and stained it nice and dark. The hardware is also original, but I spray painted it silver because the brass was too harsh against the book pages.
It's not perfect, but I think it turned out pretty well for my first real restoration!
